The Gardeners

Featuring the ultimate collaboration of Philadelphia’s own world-renowned crystal designer Peter Yenawine and Master Cutter Jan Lewczenko.

The second in a series of major museum and gallery exhibitions, the work combines Peter’s love of nature and Jan’s meticulous attention to detail, and takes the age old art of crystal cutting to a new level. These magical, one-of-a-kind, botanical crystal sculptures will be on display at the
National Liberty Museum, 321 Chestnut
Street, Philadelphia PA 19106, March 4 -
April 25, 2004.

Mr Yenawine has held a long list of prestigious international positions, including Master Designer at Steuben Glass, Director of Design at Swarovski Crystal, and has had numerous freelance affiliations with Daum, St. Louis, Baccarat, Val St. Lambert and other major crystalleries around the world. He has been commissioned by the last five White Houses to design and create numerous Gifts of State. Peter has also served as Director of Design at the Franklin Mint and has recently founded Crystal Signatures, the studio responsible for the design and creation of the 2000 ESPY Award, The Record Industry Association of America’s Diamond Award, The Marion Anderson Award, The Paradigm Award, and all awards for Major League Soccer and WUSA.

Mr Lewczenko, after a ten-year apprenticeship, earned the Masters Award from the Glass Industry of Poland. His skilled hands have created the Inaugural Bowl given to George H. Bush on the eve of his presidency and numerous crystal masterpieces gracing corporate and private art collections around the world.

Together the artists created the Memorial to the Heroes of 9/11. This magnificent crystal sculpture of the Twin Towers, now installed at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, was commissioned by Irvin Borowski, founder of the museum.
